Warranty and Aftercare
1. Warranty Coverage
Joy Creation Studio warrants that our jewellery products will be free from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship at the time of purchase, subject to the terms of this Warranty.
As our jewellery is handmade, each piece is individually crafted and may contain minor variations in size, shape, texture, colour, finish, and overall appearance. These variations are a natural and inherent characteristic of handmade jewellery and are not considered manufacturing defects.
Where natural gemstones are used, each stone is unique and may naturally vary in colour, tone, pattern, inclusions, clarity, shape, and surface characteristics. Natural inclusions, minor imperfections, variations in colour or pattern, and other characteristics inherent to natural gemstones are part of the stone's natural formation and are not considered defects.
Due to the individual nature of handmade jewellery and natural gemstones, the final product may not be identical to photographs, digital images, product samples, or previous pieces. These natural and handmade variations do not constitute a failure of the product to meet this Warranty.
This Warranty applies to genuine defects in materials or workmanship and does not cover the natural characteristics or ordinary variations associated with handmade jewellery or natural gemstones.
2. Warranty Period
Unless otherwise stated for a particular product, our jewellery products are covered by a six (6) month warranty from the date of purchase.
3. What the Warranty Covers
The warranty may cover manufacturing defects, including defects in workmanship or materials that arise under normal and reasonable use during the warranty period.
4. What the Warranty Does Not Cover
The warranty does not generally cover damage or deterioration caused by:
normal wear and tear;
accidental damage, impact, bending, crushing, or breakage;
improper use, misuse, or negligence;
exposure to water, chemicals, perfumes, cosmetics, cleaning products, chlorine, or other substances that may damage jewellery;
tarnishing, discolouration, or changes in appearance caused by normal use or environmental exposure;
scratches or surface damage resulting from normal wear;
failure to follow jewellery care instructions;
alterations, repairs, resizing, or modifications carried out by another person or business; or
loss or theft of the jewellery.
5. Custom Jewellery
Custom or personalised jewellery is also covered by any applicable warranty for manufacturing defects. However, the warranty does not cover changes, damage, or defects resulting from customer-requested alterations, misuse, or circumstances outside Joy Creation Studio's reasonable control.
6. Making a Warranty Claim
To make a warranty claim, please contact Joy Creation Studio and provide your order details, a description of the issue, and clear photographs of the jewellery where appropriate. We may request that the jewellery be returned to us for inspection before determining whether the issue is covered by the warranty.
7. Warranty Remedy
Where a defect is confirmed to be covered by this Warranty, Joy Creation Studio may, as appropriate, repair the jewellery, replace the affected item or component, or provide another appropriate remedy.
If the issue is not covered by this Warranty, we may offer a repair or replacement service at the customer's expense, where reasonably possible.
8. Consumer Rights
This Warranty is provided in addition to, and does not replace, limit, or exclude any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded or limited under New Zealand law, including rights available under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, where that Act applies.
9. Jewellery Care
Customers are responsible for following any care and maintenance instructions provided with their jewellery. Proper care can help reduce tarnishing, scratching, damage, and premature deterioration.
